Sprinkled with Love Baby Shower

Sprinkled with Love Themed Baby Shower

Over the last year, I’ve been extremely blessed to have found an amazing mom group in my area. Through our weekly walks and park gatherings, I quickly made friends who have helped me through all of the highs and lows of motherhood. If you’re a new or expecting mom, I highly recommend finding a group in your area!

I was extremely touched when one of my friends from the group, Kim, offered to throw me a baby sprinkle for the upcoming birth of my second little one. At the time, I was craving donuts, so Sprinkled with Love seemed like the perfect theme! She went overboard with the decorations, came up with cute games and let me run wild with my area of expertise, the dessert table! I had an absolute blast and was blown away by the love I was showered with. I hope this post offers some inspiration for any upcoming shower you may be planning.

How to decorate a Sprinkled with Love themed baby shower

How gorgeous is this backdrop?? I don’t know how long it took Kim to make it, but I’m sure she spent several nights on it. To create this effect, she went to Home Depot and got a roll of plastic garden fencing. She cut it down to the size she wanted and then with plastic table clothes from the Dollar Tree cut into long strips, she tied each one individually to the fencing squares. The paper flowers added at the top can be found at the Dollar Tree as well as other craft stores. The Sprinkled with Love banner came from Amazon in a set with other decorations used around the party and the sprinkle table cloths were from Hobby Lobby.

This Sprinkled with Love balloon banner and donut balloons can be found on Amazon. The wooden crates and cake stands are items I’ve had for years. I love the dimension the crates bring to the table. The three tiered stand came from Amazon. I couldn’t find the exact tray she used but this one is similar. I’ve never seen a fly fan before. Kim put this out to help keep the bugs away which actually worked!

Sprinkled with Love Dessert Table

My favorite part – the dessert! Options are endless when planning a Sprinkled with Love party since it just takes the simple addition of sprinkles to make any food fit the theme.

On the table we had regular donuts, mini donuts, donut holes, mini muffins, chocolate chip cookies, fruit cups in sprinkled waffle bowls, sprinkled Oreo’s and cake.

I would like to take a moment of silence for this charcuterie board. Kim did an amazing job in putting this delicious array together. Sadly, just moments after this picture was taken, the family dog jumped up on the table and scarfed half of the board down. At least there’s photo evidence that it existed!

I love how these fruit bowls turned out! I know that not everyone shares the same sweet tooth I have so I try to make sure to have at least one healthy option on my tables. To decorate the waffle cone bowls, first dip the edge into candy melts and then dip that in a bowl of sprinkles. In order for the bowls to not get soggy, I added in a large treat cup! Next, add any type of fruit you want. I used an assortment of blueberries, mango, grapes, strawberries and oranges to make it as colorful as I could. Aren’t the mini donuts adorable!? Walmart win!

These Oreo cookies were quick to assemble by simply dipping them in candy melts and then topped with sprinkles.

I’ll be honest, I almost threw out this cake and picked one up from the grocery store the morning of the party. It had been a while since I had done a drip affect on a cake and didn’t remember the best way to go about it. For this cake, I used heavy whipping cream and candy melts. To me, the drips came out too thick but I didn’t have time to start over. Thankfully, once the donuts and cake topper were put on, it seemed to help pull the whole thing together.

Baby Shower Games

I’m not one for “guess what candy is in the diaper” kind of games. Thankfully, Kim came up with a few cute ones that everyone enjoyed.

How many sprinkles are there?

Grab some large sprinkles (Mike and Ikes) and have guests guess how many there are in a jar.

Guess the belly size

Pass around a roll of ribbon or streamer and have guests guess how far around you are.

Diaper writing

Give the parents-to-be something to read while they’re changing those endless diapers and have guests write an encouraging message on them.

Thank you to everyone who came and showered me and my little girl with love! And a huge shout out to Kim who put on such a beautiful event! I truly appreciate all the friends I’ve made out here and can’t wait to watch our kids grow up together.
