Fall Bucket List of 15 Indoor Activities to Get You Into The Season

1. Bake a pie

As much as I love baking, I rarely bake pies. Perhaps this year I’ll change that and try a new recipe!

2. Knit a scarf

I love knitting scarves! And not just because they’re the only thing I know how to knit! I find knitting to be very relaxing and it’s an easy project to take with you anywhere you want to go. A few years back I learned how to knit in-the-round in order to make Harry Potter scarves for myself and some friends. If you’re looking for a new hobby this fall, I encourage you to give knitting a chance! In that link to the Harry Potter scarves you’ll find instructions and videos to help you begin!

3. Enjoy your fav fall drink

Hot apple cider with whip cream on top is my go-to every year!

4. Light a fall candle

Pumpkin Bourbon was the fall favorite of last year. This year, I have my eye on Jen Reed’s Better Than Pie candle. I’ll try it out and let you know what I think! What’s your favorite fall scent?

5. Put on your coziest fall sweater

We haven’t had too many fall sweater days yet here in California. Crossing my fingers that all changes soon!

6. Put up fall decorations

On September 1st every year, fall decorations go up in my home! I’m not one to wait until the “official” first day of fall.

7. Watch a fall movie

What do you classify as a fall movie? While it’s not a movie, I always break out Gilmore Girls during the fall. It’s just always seemed like the perfect show to watch during the fall.

As far as movies go, I’ll have to put some more thought into it. There are of course the classic Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus and Harry Potter which I save for the end of October. My #1 Halloween movie though is Arsenic and Old Lace. A true Cary Grant classic that my family plays every Halloween.

8. Roast pumpkin seeds

Another tradition I’ve heard of but haven’t tried myself. Let me know if you have a good recipe!

9. Build a puzzle

Every Christmas my family builds a new puzzle. It’s always one with thousands of pieces that takes up most of our dinning room table. Everyone works on it throughout the time they’re at my parents. Sometimes we finish it, sometimes we can’t. It’s a good way to hang out without technology coming between us and gives your mind a moment to relax.

I love this as one of our Christmas traditions but might have to think about incorporating it into the fall as well.

10. Build a blanket fort

I love blanket forts! My siblings and I would get pretty creative with couch cushions, pillows blankets and whatever else we could find. The grand prize goes to my brother Stephen who would create the coolest forts that would include different passages and rooms.

You don’t have to get that elaborate with your fort! Just throw some blankets over a chair, grab a few pillows to sit on and pop in your favorite movie for a chill night.

11. Wear your fuzziest socks

Who doesn’t have fuzzy socks?? I love wearing mine around the house and sliding on the kitchen floors.

12. Pull out your cozy blankets

It doesn’t have to be fall for my home to have baskets and ladders filled with blankets. It’s just nice that I can finally use them instead of stare at them!

13. Write letters to friends

Every year I tell myself this is the year I’m going to do it! I love receiving letters and writing letters, I’m just terrible at setting aside the time to do it.

14. Create a fall playlist

I’ve never been the best at creating playlists so I seek out those who are. If you’ve never heard of Alex Rainbird Music, you should check out his channel. I currently have his Pumpkin Spice mix on repeat.

15. Read a new book

I’m a sucker for Nicholas Sparks and have been eyeing his latest book. If you have any fall book recommendations, let me know!
